DRONE FLYING
“I fly FPV (First Person View) drones or
quadcopters. These are different in that
they have a camera on the drone, you wear
special goggles to look through the camera
as you fly, and they have no stabilisation.
They are controlled purely by your fingers,
no safety features, no self-levelling and no
GPS. I started this hobby about a year ago
and I fly very regularly, nearly every day.
I started my remote control flying journey
with R/C helicopters, cars and a few drones.
The first encounter was when I was about 5
years old.
I fly at Chessington Community College
with the Elmbridge Tinywhoop Flying Club
once a month. I now want to join Hanworth
Tinywhoop Racing Club which meets every
week” (Alec H)
The gear I use now is:
Quadcopter: Mobula 8 Analogue ELRS
(Express Long Range System)
Controller: Radiomaster Pocket (ELRS)
FPV goggles: Eachine EV300D
External Camera: Runcam Thumb Pro Wide
